Experience Mongolia at Immersia 2024! Step into a traditional ger and explore Mongolian culture with unique attractions that bring the heart of Asia's nomadic heritage to life.

Welcome to our Mongolia Showcase as part of 2024 Immersia: Engaging with Asia and the Pacific!

Experience Mongolian culture like never before, with a series of attractions in and around the pièce de résistance—our very own Mongolian ger. The ger, a traditional Mongolian house, is a lightweight domed tent, designed to be easily installed using internal poles and ropes.

The ger was gifted to the University in 2016 by former President of Mongolia, His Excellency Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj, in recognition of the University's commitment to Mongolian studies. ANU is the only university in the Pacific region teaching Mongolian-oriented courses in language, history and culture.

ger, the Mongolian term for house is a tent structure held together by slotting poles together and securing with ropes made from horse hair and knots made from cow hide.
