Mongolian film screening as part of a collaboration with the ANU Film Club for Immersia
Presented by the ANU Film Club in partnership with Immersia, this free screening of Iron Winter takes audiences to Mongolia's remote Tsakhir Valley, where two young friends set out to revive a sacred coming-of-age tradition at risk of being lost.
Tasked with driving 2,000 semi-wild horses across rugged, snow-covered terrain during one of the deadliest winters on record, Tsagana and Batbold face blizzards, wolves and immense physical challenges. Beautifully filmed by Australian director Kasimir Burgess, Iron Winter is an inspiring story of friendship, resilience and the enduring power of cultural tradition.
